Based at Little Barn Nursery, Bethlehem, Jess Jones grows plants and designs gardens. Celebrated for her thoughtful creations engendered by the emotional response she experiences for each unique site and client. A dedicated slow gardener, she looks to create satisfying relationships with the gardens and their owners.
The organic micro nursery specialising in hard working perennials is nestled between the Brecon Beacons and the Towy valley. It is one of the handful of nurseries chosen to participate in the Pollinator Assurance Scheme run by the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Peat and pesticides are not welcome at Little Barn.
Jess studied Photography and has a Degree in History of Art, and all three of her passions including gardening, coalesce in her exciting Garden History talks which are much in demand. It is through her studies of the history of plants and gardens in Britain that she is able to bring an understanding of authenticity when designing plantings around historical buildings.
Having spent her formative gardening years in London, Jess and her family relocated to the beautiful Brecon Beacons, now her base location and from where she travels throughout the country meeting gardens.
